Katherine King

Cofounder PlusPlusCom
Certified PCM Coach

Katherine was born in the U.S. and hadn’t traveled until she was 16 years old and visited the Soviet Union (1988). Since then she has visited over 30 countries and lived overseas. Her passion for culture has evolved with the PCM into a unique way of looking at how people are different. By incorporating her cross-cultural experience in multi-national corporations with the PCM, she is able to bring the power of corporate coaching services to individuals.

In 2000 while living in Singapore, she founded Invisible Culture, a consulting firm that provides Cross-Cultural Training and Coaching to MNCs. Since then she has conducted workshops, coaching and seminars on working across cultures crossing-cultures for Fortune 500 companies around the globe. She has lived in Australia, Singapore, China, the U.S. and Costa Rica and has worked across a broad range of industries and departments.

Currently based in New York she has always wanted to explore people’s differences through personality - the culture of the individual. She had looked at other personality inventories, but settled on the PCM® because it was the first time she found one that reliably crossed cultures.

Ms. King is an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College in New York City teaching Intercultural Training, Coaching and Consulting. Her students are so passionate about finding safe places for people who are different that we created a Facebook page, open to all, called “WhatsTheDifference.”

Ms. King has her Master’s in Organizational Psychology and Development from Columbia University with a focus on how culture impacts organizations. She speaks Spanish and French and studied Chinese Language at Fudan University, Shanghai, China. She has her certification in Intercultural Communications from The Institute of Intercultural Communications, OR, USA. She is a Process Communication Model Certified Coach and Trainer.

She is currently a member of the Society for Intercultural Educators Trainers and Researchers. In addition to her philanthropic work, she gives culture related talks in New York City where she lives with her husband and three sons.
